Session Title: Reconnecting With Your “Why” – Immersive Understanding of Customer Service
Date and Time: Tuesday 8/22, 10:45-11:30 a.m. ET
Organizations that provide technical services in our industry know that excellent customer service depends on attending to more than just technical work. The water and wastewater industry could be framed as consisting of three goals: learning from the customer, performing the technical work, and educating the customer. But training for the industry tends to focus on performing the technical work rather than the two customer-focused goals, which also means that the “why” of the work is often overlooked in those settings. Being in touch with that “why” not only reminds individuals of their motivation and mission; it also helps organizations make better decisions and be strategic about how to direct resources toward the most significant impact. How organizations and individuals can stay in touch with their “why” is the topic explored in this presentation by Project Engineer Alex Litofsky.
