OHM Advisors Honored with WTS Northeast Ohio’s 2022 Employer of the Year Award
On October 20, 2022, OHM Advisors received the WTS Northeast Ohio Chapter’s Employer of the Year Award at its annual Corporate Sponsor/Public Appreciation Breakfast. The annual award was established by WTS International to recognize and honor a company, non-profit, association, or government agency for recruiting, retaining and advancing women professionals in the transportation industry.
Headquartered in Livonia, Michigan with 18 total geographic locations, OHM Advisors has offices in Cleveland and Akron, Ohio and is an active member of WTS Northeast Ohio, supporting the organization’s scholarship program and active growth in the region. It received the award for supporting WTS through memberships, sponsorship, and employee involvement, and for its work in elevating women to firm leadership positions and advancing their development within the firm and the transportation industry.
OHM Advisors maintains a robust Diversity, Equity and Inclusion plan that seeks to accelerate recruitment, enrichment and promotion of female leaders in AEC fields traditionally dominated by men and has elevated women in the firm to shareholder and other significant leadership positions. The firm also provides an annual DEI scholarship for women and minorities to further their education in any firm discipline area of study.
In Northeast Ohio, OHM Advisors professional women participate in the Akron STEM High School mentorship program for Capstone Engineering Research to encourage the growth of diverse students in engineering, and the firm participates in the All-Akron Engineering Student summer internship program targeting female and minority student hires. Since 2017, the firm has hired multiple women for area internships in engineering design, construction and surveying and worked with selected managers and mentors dedicated to their personal and professional growth.
