St. Pete’s Catalyst Spotlights Griner Acquisition
Collective offerings and opportunities expanded through strategic growth
Griner Engineering, with offices in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Sevierville, Tennessee, announced its acquisition by OHM Advisors on Friday, November 1st, 2024.
In a feature story from the St. Pete’s Catalyst, OHM Advisors President Jon Kramer and Joseph Griner, OHM Advisors' new Director of MEP Services in Florida, discussed the strategic alignment between the two firms and the opportunities offered by this acquisition.
Kramer explained that the acquisition expanded OHM Advisors' presence to six states, including the growing market of Florida, while also doubling the firm’s green building and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) resources. OHM Advisors offers additional capacity to Griner clients focused on infrastructure resilience, while the Griner team brings fire prevention engineering capabilities previously lacked by OHM Advisors.
A St. Petersburg native, Griner was at the helm of Griner Engineering for 35 years. During that time, he built deep relationships locally while growing operations to provide engineering services to 30 states. Of the acquisition, Griner said he is "re-energized" by new possibilities for his team and his community.
Griner Engineering was founded in 1968 as an electrical engineering firm – five years after OHM Advisors opened its doors in Livonia, Michigan, with the goal of serving communities by providing quality infrastructure solutions.
