Mark Loch
Senior Project Manager

Mark joined the OHM Advisors Transportation team in 1990. In his firm tenure, he has worked as a design engineer and a project manager from the design phase through construction on a multitude of road projects including boulevard, five-lane road, residential and industrial road designs. He has deep expertise with horizontal and vertical alignment work, complex staging issues, maintaining traffic plans, permanent signing and striping plans, project specifications and unique, case-based details necessary for project completion.

In his work with numerous clients, Mark has developed expertise with a wealth of design standards as well as American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. As compliance with the Act has become increasingly important to transportation projects, he has worked to solve ADA concerns in a variety of applications on urban and suburban projects—even working with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to address those and develop new state-level standards. He also has significant experience preparing plans for clients in receipt of federal funding on projects required to meet the standards of MDOT’s Local Agency Planning Unit (LAP), enhanced by his work with the Unit in reviewing local road and enhancement projects for compliance with both MDOT and federal requirements.

Also in partnership with MDOT, Mark has assisted in developing a statewide initiative to bring together private utility companies, local agencies, and the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association (MITA) to reach a better understanding of utility coordination and help improve collaboration on infrastructure improvement projects.

Recently, Mark was selected by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer to join her Barrier Free Design Board. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan State University.
