Steve leads the firm’s Saginaw, Midland and Mount Pleasant offices, where he is responsible for local project oversight, business development and operational management of the teams. A licensed professional engineer with deep experience in infrastructure design and construction, he has been working with and advising municipalities throughout Michigan for over 20 years.
Steve’s technical expertise lies in road design and construction, water main distribution design, sanitary sewer, inflow and infiltration reduction projects, sewer modeling, and private development site plan review. He also has significant experience with non-motorized transportation design and construction and has completed more than 20 park projects throughout his career. In his extensive work with rural and urban communities, state transportation departments and road commissions, school districts and private entities, Steve has attained a high level of knowledge and familiarity with local, county and state agency regulations and requirements—and has always combined that knowledge with his technical expertise to provide his clients with innovative and cost effective solutions. As part of his current project oversight responsibilities, Steve works to ensure continuity of such advice throughout all projects in the office’s service area.
An active member of the Michigan County Road Association and American Public Works Association, Steve also routinely serves as a guest lecturer for his alma mater Michigan State University’s School of Planning, Design and Construction on topics of site grading, road and trail geometrics, pavement design and storm water management.
I strive to develop trust with clients and the employees I interact with, create a safe environment where employees are comfortable in expressing their ideas and innovations, lead with empathy, and share successes with those that helped along the way.
