Signature Community Destination Fulfills Longtime Vision, Offers Abundant Amenities

A partner with the City of Green for nearly a decade in the creation of its Vision Plan and Massillon Road Corridor Plan, OHM Advisors again worked with the City to design its Central Park—a long-awaited space for members of the community to gather and visitors to enjoy.

Nestled between the Central Administration Building, the Green Intermediate School, and the Retirement Residence of Green, the Central Park was designed to create a cultural hub for the community and fulfill a need for quality public space within the City. For nine months, our team worked with a steering committee to develop a program for the proposed park. The steering committee process was instrumental in not only creating the park’s amenity package, but also in building consensus throughout the community. To better promote the park to the public, our team created a video to provide visual representation of the built park. The video helped coalesce the group and bind the community into supporting this transformational project.

The new park is a signature community destination, offering abundant amenities for residents and visitors to enjoy including a one-mile walking path, 500-person amphitheater, farmer’s market pavilion, playground, splash pad with multiple play zones, sensory garden and community building. Our team also carefully designed green stormwater management features including rain gardens and bioretention.
