Plan Enhancements Help Continue City’s Strategic Investments in its Future

After heavy investment in strategic planning for its Downtown, targeted redevelopment areas and public spaces over the last five years, the City of Farmington partnered with OHM Advisors and a subconsultant to begin officially updating its Master Plan. Our team led a dynamic planning process to capture and build on the current planning momentum and the strong foundations set by the various citywide and suburban area plans previously designed by our firm.

Prepared with a strong understanding of local and regional conditions and trends, the project team conducted an extensive public engagement process to interact with stakeholders, City staff and the public which included a community survey, resident and business-based stakeholder meetings and numerous public meetings to understand the community’s values and aspirations for its future.

The resulting plan updates help create a long-term vision for the future by establishing goals and priorities and identifying priority redevelopment projects needed to help move Farmington forward. The updated Master Plan will serve as a guide for development, inform policy decisions, provide the basis for future zoning modifications, and provide the foundation for a capital improvements program to help Farmington remain a first-class local and regional destination for years to come.
