Healthcare Office Design-Build Accommodates Four Provider Groups in Community’s Busy “Medical Mile”
An extension of Westerville, Ohio’s busy “medical mile” development, our healthcare architects designed this multi-practice office space to house four healthcare groups desiring to create new space at a shared cost.
The private development was a design-build venture with our client, Continental Real Estate Companies, whose first-floor medical tenant sought to open an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) satisfying the requirements for accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). With expertise in designing for ASCs, our architects knew which questions to ask in the design phase to lead to a final built environment that satisfied the accreditation requirements and offered solutions to known challenges—including how to accommodate emergency power to the facility. The ASC includes 3 procedure rooms, 2 recovery rooms and 8 combined pre/post operation bays.
The 43,000-sf office building houses the ASC and a medical office for the primary tenant on the first floor and suites for the three other healthcare tenants in the remainder of the building. The building extends the “medical mile”—an over 800,000-sf community-oriented medical district that is one of the largest in central Ohio.
